It can quickly absorb carbon dioxide in the air, and its vapor pressure is low at room temperature. It completely decomposes and gasifies at 135-145 ℃. High purity products are also treated at low temperatures of 140 ℃ without any trace residue. The solution of tetramethylammonium hydroxide is colorless, transparent, and has a slight ammonia odor. The pH value of the 1 (wt)% solution is 12.9, which is a strong alkali with the same strength as caustic soda. Concentrate the aqueous solution of tetramethylammonium hydroxide under reduced pressure to obtain 5 hygroscopic needle shaped crystals of crystal water. Then, continue to concentrate and dehydrate to form 3 crystals of crystal water, and then transform into 1 crystal water of tetramethylammonium hydroxide. Decompose into trimethylamine and dimethyl ether at 135-140 ° C, and typically produce 10% and 25% aqueous solutions.
